Park Lane Guest House
We started as a carpenter and a midwife, looking for a better life out West. We chose Austin for its good climate and healthy lifestyle. The people were open minded and progressive but most of all friendly. We fell in love with Austin. After a detailed search, we stumbled upon a rare find, a 1/2 acre property with an 1940's house on a good foundation, some giant Live oak trees in historic Travis Heights just a short walk to the downtown Capital. A diamond in the rough, and a good place to start.
It was always our dream to run a B & B, a place to serve international travelers and provide the things most important to us and so often missing on the road, organic chem./free luxury, good healthy food and a friendly face in an unknown place. Something more than the standard generic urban chain hotel could offer. A place where you could feel at home away from home. Together, we shared a deep commitment for environment and a love for people. So we started small with one guest room, and grew with the public demand, adding one cottage at a time. Park Lane Guest House was a natural for us.
